Has the color become a little too dark or have the tips got too much color? Here's how to fix it at home

You can remove excess color with shampoo and hairspray if the color turned out darker than you wanted, or if your ends absorbed too much color. Use a regular hairspray directly on the hair that has absorbed too much color. Let this dry completely, and repeat three times. When it is completely dry, you can massage in shampoo and leave it for 30-60 minutes before rinsing out. We recommend doing this within 48 hours of coloring your hair. The alcohols in the hairspray and the cleansing ingredients in the shampoo help to open the hair shaft so the pigments disappear faster.

Did you get a stain while bleaching your hair? Here's how to remove stains at home

You can use pure hair dye to remove stains that you have gotten from bleaching your hair. Then you take the hair dye (without H2O2) on the brush and apply it directly to the stain, and let it work for 5 - 30 minutes. You can gradually scrape away a little of the color to see if it has stuck. To reduce stains, we recommend that many people have a hair dye tube with No. 7.1 or No. 10 lying at home, as these are best suited for this. If you are unsure about the color codes, you can read about it here.A good tip to avoid streaks next time is to use thin sections and spread enough product evenly through your hair. Unsure about hair color or bleach strength? Here's how to test what's right for you

You can take a test strand before you embark on a more extensive treatment. Maybe you are unsure whether this particular color will suit you. Maybe you are unsure whether your hair can withstand the treatment. It is always a good idea to test first. We recommend mixing a small mixture and taking a test strand in the under hair. This will give you an indication of what the final result may be. Take me to the top.

Want an extra refresh on your lengths? All you need is a little water at the end of the dyeing process.

You can lather up the colors in the lengths. After the full working time, use the base color you used in the regrowth and lather up with water, as if you were using shampoo. Then work and gradually pull the base color out into the hair. Let this work for a minute or two before rinsing it out. If your ends are very dry, porous or white, it is often enough to rinse it out right away. Take me to the top.

Should the base color be darker than the lengths? Get a clear answer as to why

Yes, the base color should be darker than the lengths for a natural result. Read more about the structure of hair here. The hair at the very base of the scalp is completely fresh and has never been opened, and therefore needs more pigments. The lengths and ends have lived longer, and the hair strands are drier and more open. Therefore, the lengths absorb more pigments and more color. Read about the three zones of hair hereFor an even result from the base to the tips, use a darker color towards the scalp and a lighter shade outwards towards the lengths. Take me to the top.

How can I dye a small regrowth? Here's how to do it

You can split the package in half if you are only treating a small amount of regrowth, the hair towards the face or the hair in the parting. Then mix half the color tube with half the H2O2 bottle. If you are unsure how much to mix, you can use a ladle or a large spoon. The point is that you should use as much from the color tube as you do from the H2O2 for the correct mixing ratio. How can I avoid hair dye stains on my skin and protect my scalp? Protect yourself with a simple product

We always recommend using skin oil around the hairline before coloring your hair, especially with dark colors. It prevents the color from sticking to the skin, so you avoid stains. It also protects sensitive skin, so if you have a sensitive scalp, you can use a few drops of the skin oil in the color mixture that goes towards the scalp. Take me to the top.

You can do an allergy test by applying the dye cream from the tube to the back of your ear. This can take 35 minutes and then wipe off. Within 48 hours you will be able to see if you have developed a rash or swelling, and can more easily make a decision whether you want to go ahead with the hair dye or not. Take me to the top.

Can I dye my hair after using dry shampoo or color spray?

It is not recommended to use hair dye when you have dry shampoo or spray dye in your hair, as it can make your hair more vulnerable to damage during dyeing. The color may not adhere properly, so wash this out before you start. Do not treat hair that has previously been treated with spray blonde, as it will cause the hair to break - no matter how long it has been. Take me to the top.
