Key concepts
Personal data is information that, alone or in combination with other information, can be used to identify, locate or contact an individual. Examples of personal data include name, telephone number and IP address.
Processing of personal data involves all forms of handling of personal data such as: collection, analysis, registration and storage.
The data controller is the person who determines the purpose of the processing of personal data and what information is requested. The data controller is responsible for ensuring that your personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable Personal Data Act.

What kind of information do we collect?
When you register via a form, order a service or product, use our chat function or visit our website, you may be asked to provide information. Depending on the situation, we may ask for the following personal information:
- Name
- Address
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Other information such as follow-up questions or answers to forms
- Technical information: which web address you use to access our websites, your IP address and user behavior, browser type, language and information about identification and operating system.
Collecting images for AI-based hair color recognition service
When you use our website, you may be given the option to upload photos of your hair. These photos:
- Are intended to be anonymous and should not contain recognizable faces or other identifying characteristics.
- May be stored and used to improve and train our AI-based hair color recognition service.
- Will not be shared with third parties without your express consent.
- Is protected with the same security measures as all other personal information we collect.
If you choose to upload an image, you consent to us storing and using the image for the purposes described above.You can withdraw this consent at any time and request that your image be deleted by contacting us at the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy.

We base our data on legitimate consent pursuant to Section 6f of the Data Protection Act. If you have previously entered into a customer relationship with us, or you are a new customer, this will be a legitimate reason to send you information. This is equated with consent under the Marketing Act, as the law has been in Norway for many years. You can withdraw this consent for us to process your personal data at any time. If you withdraw your consent, we will remove the information we have about you. Please note that deleting the information from us may affect the delivery of information within the framework of the customer relationship, as well as affect ongoing dialogues.
Information from other sources
When you consent to us processing your personal data, you also agree that we may register other information about you that you have provided to us on a previous occasion. Based on publicly available information, we may also supplement your registered information with industry and additional contact information. If you are a customer of ours, we may also add additional contact information to your information, which you have registered with us via f.eks. telephone to customer service. Information that is necessary for the services you will use will also be stored.
The purpose of the processing of personal data?
The information you provide is used for the following purposes:
- Sales and marketing activities in the form of direct e-mail or telephone contact
- Customer service and information about our products
- To obtain statistics and information about user behavior to improve both the website and the user experience itself
- So that we can provide you with a more personalized experience and deliver products and other content that interests you
We ask for your personal information to:

- Send requested materials, or otherwise fulfill our obligations in return for your submission of your information

When you consent to us processing your personal data in accordance with the above purposes, you consent to the following:
- We process your personal data in accordance with this privacy policy.
- We may send you direct marketing via email about our products.
- We can contact you by email or phone.
- Subscribe on newsletters via email that you have chosen to receive. You can opt out of further emails by following the link at the bottom of our emails, or by contacting us directly.
- Temergency and campaigns via SMS you have chosen to receive. You can decline further SMS by following the link at the bottom of our SMS, or send the message STOP.
How long is the information stored?
We process personal data only for as long as it takes to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, after which we delete the information.
If you have an active dialogue with us, we will keep your information for 2 years from the last contact; after that, we will remove the information we have about you.An active dialogue is defined as you having interacted with By Bente AS or our representatives in the last 2 years via telephone, by responding to emails, downloading material on the website or registering via a form.
If you have consented to the processing of your personal data by agreeing to receive regular emails, we will continue to process your personal data until you cancel your subscription. We will then store your personal data for 2 years before deleting the information.
Who can the information be shared with?
The information provided will be available to a limited number of people in the company, who either work in the marketing department, customer support or sales.
Information sharing with third parties
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. If there is an ongoing sales or customer dialogue between you and us, we share information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Telephone number
If we have registered your information in connection with an event carried out together with an external party, we may transfer the same categories of personal data as set out above, as well as any responses to additional form or follow-up questions.
Where is the information stored?
The information is stored by By Bente AS in our customer system. We have a data processing agreement with Optiflow, which in turn has an agreement with its subcontractors.
Your rights regarding access, deletion and possible transfer
You have the right to be informed about what information we have about you. You can also request that we correct incorrect information or delete your information.
If you wish to withdraw your consent or request access to your information, correction or deletion, please contact us at the email address provided in the contact information section. To receive such information, you must send an electronic copy of your request on a signed document. If you wish to move information, we can also help you with that.
Other purposes
If we are going to use the personal data for a purpose other than the one for which it was collected, the information obligation applies again and we must then state what the new purpose is and provide parts of the information above again.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer when you download a website.
The storage of information and the processing of this information is not permitted unless the user has both been informed of and has given his consent to the processing. The user must be informed of and approve what information is being processed, what the purpose of the processing is and who is processing the information,

Email and phone
We use email and telephone as part of our daily work. Relevant information that emerges from telephone conversations and email exchanges that occur as part of customer processing is registered in the customer system.
Our employees also use email in general dialogue with internal and external contacts. The individual is responsible for deleting messages that are no longer relevant, and at least annually reviewing and deleting unnecessary content in the email inbox. Upon resignation, the email accounts are deleted, but some relevant emails will normally be transferred to colleagues.
Sensitive personal information should not be sent by email.
