Our color packages
Useful info about the different color packages and h2o2.
We have different types of color packages: Permanent color, lightening color, minicolor, toning and shine wash. The strength and amount of hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) helps determine which color package it is.
Toning and shine wash is gradually washed out of the hair and used with 1.5% h2o2. A tint contains a smaller amount of pigment than a permanent hair color and will not dye a hair strand. A tint will always make the hair a little darker as it does not contain any form of lightening. A tint is perfect for neutralizing golden tones, refreshing the color or toning the color down a little. On already treated hair, it may be a good idea to use 3% so that the lengths do not become too dark, especially lengths on dark hair. If you want to make your hair darker, you should always use 1.5%. But always remember that lengths and ends draw more pigment than the hair towards the scalp. For toning, mix 90ml of h2o2 with 60ml of color cream.
Minicolor is a slightly more opaque and denser color than a toning/gloss wash as this contains equal parts h2o2 and color cream (60ml h2o2 + 60ml color cream). This is also used with 1.5% h2o2 so that you avoid lightening and the color will not dye the hair through like a permanent hair color. This is perfect for you with gray hair who want better coverage than a gloss wash, but avoid the very marked regrowth. Since you do not have any information on this package, this will also stay colder as you do not bring out the natural underlying pigments from the base table. This package will always make the hair darker. This is only recommended to be used at the very bottom towards the scalp or if you are going to make light hair much darker.
Permanent color is a full coverage hair color that does not wash out. This type of color dyes a strand of hair. It contains a higher proportion of pigment to achieve better coverage, used to cover gray hair. Permanent hair color is mixed with 3% - 6% or 7.5% h2o2. 3% is used if you want to dye your hair darker and have slightly thin hair strands. If you want to cover gray hair, use 7.5% to open the hair strand properly. 7.5% can lighten a maximum of 2 tones in a regrowth. 6% can lighten 1-1.5 tones, used to dye hair the same tone or one tone lighter. Permanent hair color extracts some of the natural pigments in the hair and adds pigment from the color tube. You can use 9% and 12% on a permanent hair color for more lightening. This will then give better coverage compared to light color as this is mixed with equal parts h2o2 with color cream. 90ml h2o2 is mixed with 90ml color cream (3 color tubes). Small package mixes 60ml h2o2 with 60ml color cream.
Lighting color – used to dye hair lighter. Here we use higher h2o2 and a smaller proportion of color cream for more lightening. 7.5% lightens about 2 tones while 12% will give the best lightening. You will never achieve a completely platinum blonde hair with a lightening color. A lightening color is recommended if your natural hair color is blonde and you want a more natural light hair color, but this will never be very cold on a natural hair strand. A lightening color can be used after bleaching to achieve a completely white/silver hair, or if you want neutralization without the hair becoming darker. Otherwise, lightening color is also used in combination with a correction color. Here you lighten the hair first with a light color and then neutralize the golden that appears in step no. 2 with a permanent hair color. This package is brilliant if you want light hair and at the same time cover gray. Lightening color contains care substances that Gives shiny hair. Mix 90ml h2o2 with 60ml color cream.
Freshen up lengths is a package that is specially adapted to lengths and ends that have been previously treated.Lengths and ends always attract more pigment and therefore this package contains a smaller proportion of pigments. This is mixed 60ml h2o2 with only 30ml color cream (1tube). You can mix this package with 1.5% to 7.5% h2o2. The higher the strength, the more lightening it will provide. Lengths and ends have a poorer lightening than the hair towards the scalp and often we want the lengths to have a lighter shade than the base. This package is perfect in combination with other packages so that the lengths do not become darker and colder than the rest of the hair.
Our products are gentle and caring, but we still work with chemicals, so to protect your hair as much as possible, it is important not to use stronger h2o2 than necessary.
